Thachi Valley – Chanjwala Peak trek

Most of the People never heard about this place called Thachi Valley- one of the most hidden places in the Seraj region of Mandi district. Thachi Valley is a sort of untouched and unexplored hamlet completely cut off from the world offering one of the best offbeat experiences, which everyone would like to have once in their lifetime. If you want to immerse yourself in the best of nature then Thachi Valley is the right place to explore where the aroma of nature is quite refreshing and soul-soothing.

Thachi Valley is also called “Apple County” due to its various apple orchards. The moment you would get into the lap of this valley which is blessed with natural resources and magic of offbeat Uncrowded places, surely you will find yourself on a different planet which will leave you mesmerized and wordless. A place that is laden with elevated mountain, dense forest, waterfalls, streams, and endless lush green meadow.

How to Reach

By Air :-

The nearest airport from Thachi Valley is Bhuntar, approximately 50 km away. You will have to take a cab/bus to get to Thachi from Bhuntar. The airport has limited connectivity and might face interruptions in operations, given weather fluctuations in the Kullu region. Tourists from India would find it easier to take a flight till Chandigarh and book a Taxi/Bus (Himachal Roadways –HRTC is state-owned road transport corporation of the state of Himachal Pradesh) for their onward journey to Thachi.

By Train :-

Chandigarh is the closest major Railway Station. No direct trains run to Mandi from Delhi or Shimla. However, you can take Shatabdi till Chandigarh and hire a cab/ take a bus till Mandi. You can take a Taxi/ Bus (Himachal Roadways –HRTC is state-owned road transport corporation of the state of Himachal Pradesh) from Chandigarh to reach Thachi.

By Bus :-

You can travel to Thachi by bus or public transport easily. Regular HRTC buses, as well as overnight Volvo buses, run from Delhi to Manali every day. These buses reach Aut next morning around 6 AM. You can get down from the bus at Aut and cover the rest of the journey to Thachi by taxi or wait for Kullu to Shimla bus to arrive.

Trek /Tour fee Payment:
The fee can be paid by online by payment gateway/UPI Transfer. When your transfer is done, please share us a Snapshot of Transaction ID with your transfer details, so that we can follow up your reservation efficiently on what’s app/mail.

Booking Confirmation Policy

The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 24 hours of successful booking.
This is a non transferable voucher
In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email. In such case alternatively, the customer may choose to cancel their booking before confirmation and a full refund will be processed.

Advise

It is always advised to offload your backpack at the base camp or base village and carry only the essentials with you. Keep your baggage to a minimum, otherwise, your body will start rebelling within the very first hour of the trek.

Day 1-Aut Tunnel to Thachi Village Cottage/Camp Site ( Four Wheeler)

After arriving at Aut Tunnel stop and meeting the rest of the group, you will reach the Thachi Village Cottage/Camp Site by four wheeler.

Breakfast at Thachi Village Cottage/Camp Site.

Head to local sightseeing in Thachi and visit the Hadimba Mata Temple/Ashu alli water stream/Bithu Narayan temple/Bhatudhar hill top. A Guide will be assigned to whole group for Half day to explore places. Day is completely at your leisure your group can visit any of one place.

Covid Guidelines: Cover your face with Face Mask and maintain social distancing (6 feet), Day is to your leisure/Acclimatization.

Head back for Evening Tea and snacks.

Enjoy the evening at our beautiful Cottage in mid of forest with delicious Dinner.

You will spend the night in village Cottage.

Day 2-From Thachi village cottage, trek to Chanjwala Peak

After breakfast this morning, you will trek to the Chanjwala Peak along with your Guide.

You will be walking through forests of Oak, Apple Orchard and vast grassland along with your guide.

Trek goes down through a beautiful forest filled with golden oak trees, water stream and Apple orchards. It then gently shifts upwards towards vast grasslands. The 5 hour one way trek is an enjoyable ride with dense forests surrounding you.

You have complete day to explore the area.

You have option to camp at Chanjwala peak or walk extra 2 km and stay at homestay. This would be a complete group decision. Complete group will be staying at either of one place.

You will spend the night in tents/homestay.

Day 3- From Chanjwala Peak to Thachi Village & Drop at Aut Tunnel

After breakfast this morning, you will be trek back to Thachi village homestay and then dropped at Aut Tunnel Stop, where the Thachi Valley Chanjwala peak experience will come to an end with the memories of the beautiful Orchards, Water stream & Vast Grassland in your mind and in your camera.

Note:-

Tata Sumo or similar vehicles will pick-up you from Aut Tunnel bus stop to Thachi Village Cottage.

Your trek fee includes

1. Accommodation – Stay from Day 1- Thachi valley Cottage (sharing basis), Day-2 Chanjwala Peak Camping/ Homestay.
2. Meals – Breakfast-Lunch-Evening Tea & Dinner at Thachi Village Cottage on Day 1, Breakfast-Lunch-Evening Tea – Dinner on Day 2, Breakfast- Day 3. We provide simple, nutritious vegetarian food on all days.
3. Transport- Aut Tunnel stop Pick up and drop.
4. Stay charges – All Stay charges are included.

6. Sanitized Rooms. However, rooms can be sanitized again at your request.
7. Safety equipment – First aid, medical kit, will be available at Homestay to deal with emergencies..
